Last time I was at T for Thai, 3 people split 12 dishes (see post). Read that again. 3 people, 12 dishes. Just slightly excessive but for the sake of a tasting, we stuffed down as many dishes as we could for variety.
This time, I returned to T for Thai and narrowed down exactly what a meal for two (maybe three) should look like for people with normal stomach capacities. T for Thai is definitely at the top of my list for Thai food in Shanghai and below are my top dishes here.
Chicken satay (RMB¥68) is the juiciest.
Nam tok mu (RMB¥88) pork salad with herbs, apple and shallot.
Lon gabi (RMB¥78) shrimp paste simmered in coconut cream seasoned with palm sugar, tamarind, and served with raw vegetable and crispy pork belly.
Gaeng panaeng gaem nua (RMB¥108) gently braised beef cheek in pannaeng curry with kaffir lime is my favorite curry here.
Gaeng pong wan mhu sam chan (RMB¥88) slow braised pork belly in yellow curry and kaffir lime offers a fattier option.
Koa-niew moon mamuang (RMB¥48) mango and sticky rice, served with coconut sauce.
I forgot to order the beef basil (RMB¥88), which is also a favorite of mine here. Adding that, this meal is probably enough for three people.
Have you tried MiThai for Thai food? Or even The Spice is for me is better than this place.
I’ve been to T for Thai before and vowed never to go ever again… perhaps they changed chefs.
