The Ritz-Carlton is a timeless name known all over the world and the Ritz-Carlton in Shanghai Pudong is particularly exquisite for its location next to Shanghai’s most iconic buildings in Lujiazui. With Shanghai at your feet, this city is your oyster.

We held a private party at The Ritz-Carlton inside one of their largest suites, The Chairman Suite, where everything from the food to the view and the service made it a night to remember.

The Chairman Suite is a 410 sqm/4,413 sqft suite situated on the 50th floor of The Ritz-Carlton with panoramic views of the bund and the Oriental Pearl Tower in almost every room except for the walk-in closet. Aside from plopping down on the enormous bed for a night’s stay, it boasts oversized living and dining room areas large enough to hold private events. Martini bar, check. Bartender, check. Those are important.

For our event, The Ritz-Carlton stocked our suite with drinks, canapés, bartenders, and servers. Similar arrangements can be made for regular meeting or event spaces available at The Ritz.

Drinks were made by a bartender from Flair (58th floor terrace bar) stationed at the martini bar in the suite.

Food for events can be brought up from one of the kitchens downstairs, cooked in the kitchen next to the suite, or both. We had a flurry of sweet and savory, regular and custom canapés filled and refilled throughout the night.

And last but not least, Ritz-Carlton’s own macarons. Macarons are one of those things that I am very cautious about because most places simply do not make them that well but these took me by surprise. Soft centers sandwiched between crispy, delicate cookies with just the right amount of sweetness. Flavors were not labeled but I tried what tasted like Earl Grey (or some sort of tea flavor) and chocolate passion fruit and they were glorious. We stuffed our faces.

For a more modest stay, a selection of rooms and suites are available with equally breathtaking views of the iconic Pearl Tower. This is the stuff that dreams (and movie scenes) are made of. Photos below are of the Premier Bund View Suite.

Waking up to this view is unreal.

And lastly, guests of The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai Pudong get priority booking for Flair (58th floor) offering food, drink, and afternoon tea. With both inside and terrace seating, Flair is smack dab next to the Pearl Tower. Can’t get any closer than this aside from actually being inside the Pearl Tower.
